water purification systems

In 2011 we started installing water-purification systems - one on Volcano Pacaya and one in Jalapa. That was the beginning of 9 water systems to date. Each one has been installed differently since each situation was different. Where there is free flowing water, it is easier. Some places cisterns must be built to catch the water. 

Water purification systems installed at a church location can cost between $2000 -$2500. Depending upon the requirements of the site, a cistern may be needed or multiple tanks for storage.
